Inside the Spectacular Eid Milan Family Dinner at Himalaya Rockdale

There is nothing quite like the magic of community. On Monday night, June 1st, the PakOZ and Young Innovators Australia teams had the absolute pleasure of being on the ground to witness one of the most heartwarming gatherings of the year: the Eid Milan Family Dinner.
Hosted at the iconic Himalaya Rockdale Restaurant, the evening was orchestrated by Arshad Naseem Butt, President of the Pakistan Australia Friendship Association. This spectacular night pulled double duty, serving as a joyous celebration of Eid and a deeply respectful, warm welcome to Arshad’s respected mother upon her arrival in Australia. 🌸❤️
A Grand Reunion of Sydney’s Finest
From the moment guests stepped inside Himalaya Rockdale, the atmosphere was electric yet deeply intimate—feeling less like a formal function and more like a massive family reunion.
The room was packed with the very best of Sydney’s diaspora, including:
- Distinguished Community Elders who anchor our traditions.
- Vibrant Families and Youth bringing incredible energy to the room.
- Prominent Poets, Writers, and Artists who filled the evening with cultural richness.
Guests tucked into a spectacular spread of authentic food, sharing endless laughs and building deep connections. To make the evening even more unforgettable, brilliant live musical performances and poetry kept the good vibes rolling late into the night. 🎶🇦🇺
A Beautiful Surprise: Honouring Mrs. Lone 🏆❤️
While the night was filled with milestones, one of the most touching highlights occurred when the Young Innovators Australia and PakOZ teams took to the stage for a very special presentation.
To mark this beautiful gathering, the teams came together to formally present an honorary award to Mrs. Lone, Arshad Naseem Butt’s beloved mother-in-law!
Presenting this award in front of a room full of community leaders was a moment of pure joy and profound respect. In our culture, our mothers and elders are our ultimate foundation and guiding lights. Being able to honour Mrs. Lone, surrounded by so much community love and warmth, was an absolute privilege that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. 🥰🇵🇰🇦🇺
Powered by Unity and Collaboration 🤝
An event of this scale doesn’t just happen by accident. During the night, Arshad Naseem Butt took a moment to offer his heartfelt gratitude to his incredible organizing team, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a seamless success:
- Syed Shafqat Ali
- Naeem Haq
- Adeel Shakoor
- Shahid Malik
- Syed Arif
- Ghazala Shahid
It is a powerful reminder that when our community collaborates as one big family, we create memories that last a lifetime. At PakOZ, we are incredibly proud to document these moments of cultural pride, unity, and respect right here in Australia. 💪✨
